Below are the dates and deadlines your student will want to keep in mind to stay on track and make the most of their Tiger experience.
Spring Semester 2024
- January 13: Residence halls reopen at 10 a.m.
- January 15: Martin Luther King Day Holiday
- January 15: MLK Legacy Day
- January 16: First Day of Spring Classes
- January 18: MLK Unity Celebration from 6–8 p.m. in the Magnolia Room, LSU Student Union
- January 23-25: LSU Ring Week from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. in the Barnes & Noble at LSU Bookstore
- January 25: Final date for dropping courses without receiving a grade of a "W", 4:30 p.m.
- January 26: Final date for adding courses for credit and making section changes, 4:30 p.m.
- January 31: SprIng Involvement Fest from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. on Tower Drive
- January 31: LSU Student Union 60th Anniversary Celebration from 4:30–8 p.m. on the LSU Parade Ground
- February 6: Mardi Gras Mambo from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. on Tower Drive
- February 6: Engineering Networking Reception
- February 7: Career Expo
- February 12-14: Mardi Gras Holiday. Classes resume at 12:30 p.m. on February 14
- February 21-22: LSU Grad Fair from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. in the Barnes & Noble at LSU Bookstore
- February 23-25: LSU Family Association Spring Family Fling
- February 28: Business Networking Reception
- March 5: Advertising & Communications Networking Fair
- March 11-15: Spring Break
- March 19: Mid-semester grades due
- March 20: Art & Design Career Networking Day
- March 22: Construction Interviewing Day
- March 27: LSU Giving Day
- March 29: Good Friday Holiday
- March 31: Course scheduling for fall semester and wintersession begins at 5 p.m.
- April 5: School Professional Networking Day
- April 5: Final date for dropping courses, request rescheduling a final examination when three examinations are scheduled in 24 hours, or resigning from the university
- April 11: Opportunity Knocks
- April 13: Geaux BIG Baton Rouge
- April 24: LSU Day at the Capitol
- April 27: Tiger Twelve Ceremony
- April 28: LSU Ring Ceremony
- April 30: President's Late Night Breakfast
- May 4: Last day of classes
- May 6-11: Final Examinations
- May 8: Deadline for students who live in residence halls to request an extension to remain in the hall until 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 12.
- May 11: Student who live in residence halls must vacate the res hall by 8 p.m., or within 24-hours of their last exam, whichever comes first.
- May 17-18: Commencement
