LSU’s Class of 2025 is entering the next chapter with momentum. The result represents a five‑percentage‑point increase from last year and exceeds the national average for bachelor’s graduates at public universities, underscoring LSU’s commitment to student success long after graduation.

It also highlights LSU’s continued focus on preparing students not just to graduate, but to thrive—living out the university’s commitment to build teams that win.

“These undergraduate outcomes show the value of an LSU education, exceeding national averages and underscoring the strength of the LSU undergraduate experience and degree,” said LSU Chancellor James Dalton. “Our graduates are leaving prepared to succeed, contribute, and lead here in Louisiana and wherever their paths take them.”

LSU graduates are also seeing the financial payoff of their degrees.

The average salary for LSU bachelor’s graduates reached $68,000, outpacing the national average of $63,000. Gains were particularly notable in high-demand fields, reinforcing LSU’s role as a workforce engine for Louisiana and beyond.

Just as importantly, LSU graduates are choosing to invest their talents close to home. Louisiana remains the top destination for LSU students pursuing both employment and graduate school, strengthening the state’s economy and communities.

Experience That Makes a Difference

Hands-on learning remains a defining feature of the LSU experience.

  • Among 2024–25 undergraduates who interned:
    • 59.25% completed one internship
    • 27.27% completed two internships
    • 13.47% completed three or more internships

These experiences give students a competitive edge, helping them clarify career goals, build professional networks, and transition confidently into the workforce.

Career-Ready by Design

LSU’s approach to career preparation continues to evolve through strategic initiatives that connect classroom learning with real-world experience. Key efforts underway include:

  • Collaborating with Undergraduate Research to help students clearly articulate their skills and experiences using the Ready to Roar career proficiencies
  • Launching a new solution that allows faculty to streamline tracking of internships for academic credit
  • Introducing a new AI and Tech Virtual Career Fair, expanding access to emerging industries and employers

“The outcomes for the LSU Class of 2025 underscore the important role of a flagship university in attracting top talent and driving the success of our state,” said Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost Troy Blanchard. “Within months of graduation, our graduates are moving confidently into careers and advanced study, building strong futures for themselves and the communities they call home.”

Building What’s Next

The Class of 2025 outcomes underscore LSU’s role as a launchpad for opportunity where academic excellence, experiential learning, and career preparation come together.

As LSU continues to expand partnerships, innovate curriculum, and align education with workforce needs, the message is clear: LSU graduates are ready to lead, ready to contribute, and ready to roar.
