The LSU School of Music is proud to celebrate Master’s candidate Jarred Kennedy, who has been selected as a 2025 Reynolds Conducting Institute Fellow for this year's Midwest Clinic. This prestigious honor, awarded to only 14 conductors annually, recognizes emerging leaders in conducting and provides an unparalleled opportunity for professional growth and mentorship.

Each year, the Reynolds Conducting Institute—part of the Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference–selects a small cohort of talented conductors for an immersive two-day program. Fellows receive hands-on learning and podium time with distinguished clinicians Eric Wilson (Baylor University) and Kevin Geraldi (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign), working directly with a full ensemble in a masterclass setting. The program is designed to refine conducting technique, enhance rehearsal skills, and prepare the next generation of leaders in instrumental music education.

Being named a Reynolds Fellow is a significant milestone for any aspiring conductor, offering world-class instruction and invaluable networking opportunities with top professionals in the field. Held annually in Chicago, the Midwest Clinic is one of the most prominent gatherings for instrumental music educators, conductors, and performers worldwide.

"Jarred's selection as a Reynolds Fellow reflects both his exceptional talent and his dedication to his craft," said LSU Director of Orchestral Studies, Scott Terrell. "Opportunities like this open doors for young conductors to learn from the very best, carrying those skills into their own future careers as educators and professional artists. We are very proud of Jarred and can't wait to see what he will accomplish."

Jarred will join the 2025 Reynolds Fellows this Decemeber at the 79th annual Midwest Clinic at Chicago's McCormick Place. HIs selection highlights the LSU School of Music's ongoing commitment to preparing the next generation of leading music educators and conductors to make their mark on the global stage.
