Dean's Welcome

The College of Agriculture plays a critical role in our land-grant mission to advance teaching and research throughout Louisiana and beyond.  The college fosters a collaborative environment in which faculty, staff and students work collectively to support the future of Louisiana agriculture.

We offer a comprehensive portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs designed to prepare students for careers in agriculture, natural resources and related fields. Our academic programs are grounded in rigorous coursework and enriched by experiential learning opportunities that equip students with the technical knowledge, critical thinking skills and practical experience necessary to succeed in a competitive and evolving global landscape.

Our faculty, many of whom hold joint appointments with the LSU AgCenter, enables a seamless integration of research and instruction. This structure ensures that students benefit directly from faculty-led research addressing complex agricultural, environmental and economic challenges. Through this model, we remain responsive to the needs of producers, industries and communities throughout Louisiana.

In addition to academic instruction, we place a strong emphasis on leadership development, ethical responsibility and innovation.  Students are encouraged to engage in internships, undergraduate research and industry partnerships that provide valuable professional experience and prepare them for success beyond LSU.
